Bonnie Deraas volunteers countless hours at the Pembina County Food Pantry. She has organized the pantry to make the process of handing out food baskets more efficient. She keeps track of items that are getting low in the pantry. She then lets the local churches know what items the pantry needs. She watches items that go on sale at the local grocery store and purchases them. She keeps the shelves full restocking from the back room. Bonnie is the President of the Pembia County Emergency Food Pantry.
Bonnie is also very active in her church. She spends hours helping with church activities.
Bonnie has also been on the committee for our local Relay for Life for several years. This also takes a lot of her time.
She participates in these volunteer activities because she cares deeply about those in need and wants to help others. But she wants to stay in the background and not be recognized for her work.
Knowing Bonnie has made me a better person. She brings out the best in me. She is one of the kindest, most caring people I know. She has a heart of gold.
